Falling Water

Blue Mountains waterfall mist

Water is something else (besides trees) I often find myself taking too many photos of. When there is any sort of cascading involved, it could get a little out of hand. These are a few photos that were taken at the Blue Mountains.

I enjoy water too. The sky is my favourite medium, but here Im restricted in my view of it. I have literally hundreds of 'reflections' shots, Im fascinated by pictures within pictures. I took dozens once of a wheelbarrow that had filled up after the rain, it just fascinated me! My boyfriend says....'Why did you take so many shots of the wheelbarrow?' Im like, 'it filled up with water and was perfectly reflecting the gum tree' and he says, 'yeah....I get it, but baby.....Its a wheelbarrow!'

When our property gets run off, and dry areas become creeks, I can get quite enamored with little waterfalls too.

Kleo, I love the sky too, and reflections are so cool. I can totally understand why you would take pictures of the wheelbarrow. You paint a very pretty picture of your property with the creeks forming when it rains.

Rusty, I can't get enough of falling water! Somehow, it resonates with all of us... is it, perhaps, because falling water is cleaner than stagnant water, so we've evolved to enjoy it?

Rusty, keep up with your photography, you're doing well, you'll do better as you go, try some different perspectives and some close ups if you can.

Cib, I haven't really thought about that beyond how waterfalls are aesthetically pleasing... but that's pretty subjective. The cleanliness reason could be it .

Thankyou katyzzz . I have some perspective shots... I just don't know how to put them in a "set" to post at the moment. As with close-ups, I'm still rubbish at it, but I'll keep experimenting.

Just do perspective on or something on perspectives or such, you'll get the idea, mention photography too.

Close ups need a special lens, I suspect your camera is not up to it.

katyzzz, that's probably a better idea in terms of making a post more interesting... guess I've just developed a habit of posting by subject (trees, waterfalls).

My camera's one of those flat digital ones, so I guess it might not be especially great for close ups... I haven't tried many close ups with it though, so I'll muck around with it a bit more to see what it can do.

Thanks for the ideas and encouragement!
