Pic of the Week: Drawing a Crowd

Buskers tend to be quite physical and/or audible in order to attract attention if you think of the musicians, contortionists and jugglers. But not street artists like this guy.
I took this photo passing through Pitt Street Mall one weekend. It must have taken ages to replicate the painting. Pretty impressive, but he’s not the best busker I’ve seen.
I was coming out of one of those underground train stations in the city, and in the tunnel I was greeted by hearty strumming. It came from a young man hunched casually over his guitar. As soon as I put some money into his case, he burst into song (the tune was Sinead O’Connor’s Nothing Compares to You, but I think he might’ve changed the lyrics).
A living jukebox. Fabulous.
