Head for the Park Next Weekend
January 17th 2009 03:58
Round up your friends and family on January 26 to celebrate Australia Day and the Chinese New Year at Bicentennial Park. From 12pm to 10pm, there will be kids’ rides, a petting zoo, drumming workshops, live entertainment, cultural performances, a screening of Dr Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who! in the evening, and more – all for free! Bring a picnic, have a BBQ (facilities are free) or enjoy the food available for purchase.
More things to do
There are other activities usually on offer at Bicentennial Park. Explore the wetlands by following the boardwalk, take the kids to the children’s playgrounds, go bird watching, or go cycling.
Check out the Bicentennial Park website for other events, activities, places to eat and find out what else is coming up at the park - there are photography and drawing classes you can sign up for.
Bicentennial Park is open every day from sunrise to sunset. The entrance to the park is on Australia Avenue and entry is free.
